New Jim Crow, Michelle Alexander

Ohio State University Professor of Law, Michelle Alexander, was the keynote speaker for the University of Akron's Rethinking Race last night at EJ Thomas.  She was absolutely brilliant.  Accessible and powerful. 

You can find out more about her at this link and you can see her give a talk only a few days ago at Vanderbilt University (on youtube).  Since is was only a few days before the UA talk, and it was to celebrate MLK Day, my guess is that it is either largely or entirely the exact same, wonderful, presentation. 

I strongly encourage you to watch and listen, read her book, and consider her argument.
