We are not a fundamentally different country today than we
were two weeks ago. We are a complicated nation, with many warts and wonders,
today as much as yesterday.
This election will create more insecurity for some, and that
will not be evenly distributed. This fight has never been easy.
Republicans are going to come to Jesus now about the power
of government.
What actually makes America great?
Is it healthy to have this battle now about who we are?

I think it is better to have this conversation openly and honestly, rather than in dog
whistles.”
Let’s not choose to see all Muslims as a monolith; similarly,
let’s not choose to see all those who voted for Trump as a monolith.
It is not true that everyone who voted for him has to be defined
by the worst of Trump’s rhetoric.
